Probably the most significant change to memory in the last few years has been in portable memory storage. External USB hardware make its easy to transfer small sized files between multiple computers. But I would like to focus on the most radical innovation of all, the Sony Memory Stick.
While USB storage is great for generic uses, the memory stick can transfer photo's, music, and much more. Let's suppose you own a Sony PSP. With the right memory stick and/or adapter you can take pictures with your Sony Camera and view them easily on your Sony PSP.
You can also take that same memory stick and download songs off of Sony Connect to played by on your PSP or computer. Because it acts as a standard across multiple platforms it decreases the downtown usually required to transfer files.
Best of all it comes in fairly large sizes. Part numbers
MSXM1GN and
MSXM2GN to be exact.
If there is a smaller (portable) multi function, higher capacity solution I have yet to find one yet.
